There will be a Price to Pay- Expect Resistance to Personal Development.

We have all admired people who have made it and are living their purpose. We look at their success and wonder what it took them to reach that level of success. The past days I have been thinking of paying a price. Most times we fail to reach are full potential because we don’t what to pay a price. Oh yes it may not sound nice to our ears but it’s the reality. There will be times of pain, tears, heart breaks, sleep nights, disappointments the list is endless.

Usually the price to pay is enabling one to establish a firm foundation so that when storms come one is firm and stablished to go through the storms. Here are some of pointers that will show up as resistance to personal development but yet a lesson to pick a leaf.

Waiting time!

The waiting period is not always defined for all. Some it may take years while others may get a breakthrough in a short while. So it requires patience, patience will enable one become complete and it does allow one to pick lessons to enable them become better. So take a day at at time to avoid being frustrated. Learn as much as possible during the waiting period.

Opinion from people

There will be always opinions from people like it or not. The question is will you be able to stand firm and focused not allowing all forms of distractions. Keep focused to your goal and keep on keeping on. A story is told, as a group of frogs was traveling through the woods, two of them fell into a deep pit. When the other frogs crowded around the pit and saw how deep it was, they told the two frogs that there was no hope left for them. However, the two frogs decided to ignore what the others were saying and they proceeded to try and jump out of the pit.  Despite their efforts, the group of frogs at the top of the pit were still saying that they should just give up. That they would never make it out. Eventually, one of the frogs took heed to what the others were saying and he gave up, falling down to his death. The other frog continued to jump as hard as he could. Again, the crowd of frogs yelled at him to stop the pain and just die. He jumped even harder and finally made it out. When he got out, the other frogs said, “Did you not hear us?” The frog explained to them that he was deaf. He thought they were encouraging him the entire time. Sometime you may need to act as though you were deaf.

set-back

Set backs will come our way. I read somewhere that Coca Cola sold 25 bottles in it’s first year this kept me wondering if they had given up we wouldn’t we enjoying a meals with an ice cold coke. Set backs can be disappointments, discomfort, losses. The pandemic of COVID-19 has had a lot of impact on so many plans, be it business, personal development. You may have set goals for this year and the year is about to end but you may have not even attained any. Regardless of the situation don’t give up your dream keep hoping.

In ancient times, a King had a boulder placed on a roadway. He then hid himself and watched to see if anyone would move the boulder out of the way. Some of the king’s wealthiest merchants and courtiers came by and simply walked around it. Many people loudly blamed the King for not keeping the roads clear, but none of them did anything about getting the stone out of the way. A peasant then came along carrying a load of vegetables. Upon approaching the boulder, the peasant laid down his burden and tried to push the stone out of the road. After much pushing and straining, he finally succeeded. After the peasant went back to pick up his vegetables, he noticed a purse lying in the road where the boulder had been. The purse contained many gold coins and a note from the King explaining that the gold was for the person who removed the boulder from the roadway. What is the moral of the story Every obstacle we come across in life gives us an opportunity to improve our circumstances, and whilst the lazy complain, the others are creating opportunities through their kind hearts, generosity, and willingness to get things done.

The path toward self-mastery would be straight and narrow if it wasn’t for resistance. Resistance takes various forms. When you understand the source of your resistance, you can navigate around and through it. Hope this has been insightful.
